JOB TITLE: Sr. Business Intelligence Specialist

I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities
Strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing and rolling out BI solutions to end users. The Business Intelligence Specialist is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Will include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
A. Strategy and Planning
* Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers and other stake holders
B. Operational Management
* Direct, organize and lead projects in the implementation and use of Oracle BI tools and systems.
* Lead the integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
* Design, code, test and document all new or modified BI systems, applications and programs.
* Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports and report definitions.
* Develop graphs and portal interfaces.
* Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
* Analyze user requirements, and based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
* Produce extract, transfer, load (ETL) design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.
* Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
* Troubleshoot BI tools, systems and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.
* Act as an evangelist for BI benefits across ; promote BI usage to relevant departments.
* Ensure all BI related activities comply with global compliance standards and procedures.
III. Knowledge and Skills
A. General BI skills
* Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
* Experience with tier-one applications, databases and data warehouses, such as MS SQL Server.
* Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
* Knowledge of SQL scripting language along with OLAP and ODBC technologies.
* Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices.
* Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.
* Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Capable of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
* Capable of working individually with minimum supervision.

* ETL- Informatica (9.0)
* Oracle Business Intelligence tools (11.0)
o OBIEE
 Creation of Dashboards, Analysis, and Agents
 Security
o Oracle BI Administration
 RPD design and maintenance
 Including data and dashboard security integrated with AD
o Oracle Catalog Manager
 Migration of components from Development thru Production
o Oracle BI Applications
 Financial
 Procurement & Spend
 Supply Chain and Order Management
 Including installation, configuration and upgrade of prebuilt Apps as well as integration of customization into the data warehouse
* OBIEE reporting over Hyperion Essbase Cubes.
* SQL Developer (3.0)
IV. Education and Work Experience
* Bachelor"s Degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years direct work with BI systems, prefer at least 3 years using Informatica and OBIEE.
* Formal training or certification from business intelligence application providers.
