External Job Description
Amazon.com seeks a Business Analyst to join the AWS Finance Operations team. The candidate will be responsible for tracking network and server hardware assets globally, creating and maintaining key metrics and reports, and supporting processes for various AWS finance teams. The ability to create queries and reports using SQL is a key requirement of this position.
Specific duties include:
* Communicating with key internal partners, lessors, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate capture of asset data.
* Completing template documents and financial reporting per Asset Management protocols in regard to leasing, transfer of assets/intercompany sales and liquidations.
* Providing information to Fixed Assets-Central Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
* Ensuring data integrity:
o Investigating operational & financial data discrepancies in order to gain resolution
o Updates to Asset Management database to maintain integrity of all fields
o Auditing of records on regular basis, per Asset Management policies.
* Creating reports and reconciling data:
o Creating Oracle reports for AWS finance
o Reconciling invoices from Amazon's imaging system
o Creating queries and pulling reports from Oracle Business Intelligence environment
o Investigating report outputs to extract key data points to expose to the AWS customers
Basic Qualifications
* 5-10 years of demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: finance, procurement, project management, asset management, accounting, accounts payable, and/or lease management
* MySQL database and query design, and data integration and reporting.
* Outstanding attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills
* Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
* The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
* A degree at the Bachelor level or higher.
