Data Base Development/ Design/ Production Support
I. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent.
Experience and Required Technical Skills:
Oracle PLSQL (4+yrs)
SQL LOADER (2+Yrs)
DB Design (2+yrs)
UNIX Shell script (2+Yrs)
* 4+ years experience with RDBMS systems
* 3+ years experience with relational database design experience
* 3+ years experience with back-end database programming (e.g., Oracle"s PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, SQL)
* 2+ years experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
* 2+ years experience with database design tools (e.g., Designer/2000, ERWIN)
* Experience with Java programming a plus
* Familiarity with AppWorx a plus
* Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Reporting Structure
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create, maintain, and document all tables, views, snapshots and other database objects created for development
* Analyze and process complex data from varied sources to confirm its referential integrity to logical and physical models
* Coordinate and perform detailed, complex data cleansing
* Design, implement, and document exception handling for non-standard and redundant data
* Transform and standardize data (e.g., names, addresses)
* Design, implement, and document shell scripts and PL/SQL procedures to execute loads into databases
* Manage, maintain, and document client, schema, and program codes common between clients and internal databases
* Investigate batch job processing errors (e.g., aborted data processing) and manage its resolution via queued tasks and tickets (Remedyforce)
* Analyze and question incoming change requests with the potential for negative system impact (e.g., poor query performance)
* Rapidly switch between transactional systems, data warehousing tasks, and large-scale reporting systems and back again over short periods of time
* In cooperation with System managers, coordinate changes to test and production database environments while adhering to ISO-compliant change processes
* Document new and maintain changes to existing ISO- and company-related processes and procedures followed by the team
* Other duties as required
