ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Application Engineer is expected to provide functional and technical support to users of the Oracle applications - Manufacturing in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance (MGFSF) cluster in the Engineering, Manufacturing and Sustaining (EMS) domain at the company

The MFGSF cluster has the following systems -
*Oracle Applications 11i (ERP) used in EMS centers to support processes like purchasing and requisitions, Order Management and its invoicing, manufacturing and planning processes, Enterprise Asset management and Inventory management and finance and accounting and its integration with Other applications.
*A .NET based web application to manage/track workflows.
*A custom built Supply Chain application to centrally manage all the companies suppliers. Supplier strategy and qualification status are continuously evaluated, through the capture of key supplier.

The end users supported are the global community in the company using these systems. In accordance with business needs, this role would be responsible for ensuring and improving the functional and technical quality and management of the above mentioned applications. He/she should constantly strive for process and system improvement to deliver measurable increases in efficiency and should be able to provide real-time support to business users.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Job Summary:
The Oracle Manufacturing Application Engineer is responsible for
*Enhancements, projects and user functional support gathering requirements, writing functional design documents, communicating requirements to technical team members, testing, implementing, and training for the Oracle EBS modules including Item Master, Bill of Materials, Routing, Work-in-Process,
Purchasing, Inventory Management, Order Management, Costing, Quality, Material planning and knowledge in Enterprise Asset Management.
*Technical Knowledge in Oracle sql, PL SQL, Interfaces, report development.
*Knowledge in Oracle BI Tools.

Techno-Functional Support:

Provides functional application support in the following areas:
*Management of item master, bill of materials and routing, work order scheduling and management, shop floor management, process inspection and quality, production standard cost management and scheduling, sourcing rules, quotations, purchasing, order management and shipping execution, internal requisitions and internal sales order.
*Have worked in Inbound and Outbound Interfaces during implements.
*Act as a liaise between business users and technical team members
*Works closely with the other Oracle EBS module leads in supporting the overall E-Business suite.
*Understanding of S&OP and Distribution network Supply Demand balancing methodology and implementation
*Encourages teamwork and positive working relationships
*Provides Training to business users
*Develops and maintains process and functional documentation
*Responsible for providing support to business users and resolution of all tickets in a timely manner
*Gathers requirements, develop solutions and manage implementation of minor enhancements
*Guide users on the implemented functionality of Oracle EBS modules and identify enhancements/changes to address business requirements or process improvement
*Ensures process implementations alignment with company policies and report and investigate any process deviation to ensure continuous improvement on service quality
*Ensures process consistency between the communities through calls, meetings and workshops
*Drives the change management process
*Initiates, develops, and shares best practices, policies, and procedures across their organization
*Assists in business process redesign as needed
*Translates high level requirements into function specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to the specifications
*Responsible for the configuration of the responsible Oracle EBS modules supporting the organization
*Validates new deliveries from Level 3 support and coordinates testing and move to production.
*Technical Knowledge in Oracle SQL, PL SQL, report & Interface developments.
*Knowledge in Oracle Business Intelligence tool.

Application Co-ordination & Support
*Completes the incident processes in Remedy Incident Management, ALM and Swift Systems and guarantee proper follow up
*Coordinates with Service Desk on ticket auto-assignment and decision tree configurations for new applications and module in Remedy
*Provides an initial effort estimation for application enhancement / change requirements
*Serves as a subject matter expert for the MFGSF application cluster
*Acts as point of contact for all the knowledge of the managed applications
*Trains and coaches key users and end users in the correct use of the applications and the data contained in those applications.

Improve quality
*Consults key users about enhancements to applications and takes their feedback concerning key issues and redundancies
*Assists in testing of new application releases and promotions
*Produces metric reports on incoming tickets, trends etc. Ensures that the defined KPIs and SLAs in place are met for ticket resolution
*Organizes ad-hoc ticket backlog resolution campaigns
*Operates within the Security operations standards and guidelines
*Ensure that the application(s) business and technical documentation are kept up-to-date.
*Ensures that the applications support procedures are kept up-to-date
*Verifies and validates software compliance.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering in related field
5-8 years' experience in discrete manufacturing.
Past experience in Oracle Manufacturing Implementation projects and post production supports.
Used to deal with Oracle inbound and outbound integrations with other systems
Advanced in business process analysis, requirements capture, handling change management and keeping up-to-date with domain needs
Basic knowledge and understanding of the EBS technical platform, Key ER relationship, SQL knowledge
Exposure to additional ERP systems (in particular SAP) is not required but will considered a plus
Preferred experience in Manufacturing domain in Oil & Gas or Core industries
