Job Description:
Summary: The Senior Analyst in IT Applications team will be both, a technical and a functional expert of Procure to Pay process. The successful candidate will consult, configure and develop needed functionality and coordinate with a team of internal and external developers to support the growth and sustainability of Ciena's SC Procurement function. The candidate should demonstrate expert capability in building business relationships, gathering and clarifying business requirements, system alalysis, translating requirements into low level design documents, system configuration, custom development, and partnering with other team members to carry forward system changes and enhancements through to production.
Major Responsibilities:
• Sr. Analyst is responsible for high and low-level design, development, testing and implementation for application solution sets within the procurement applications and processes (Direct and Indirect Procurement, Purchasing, iProcurement, iSupplier, Accounts Payable, Sourcing & SLM )
• Sr. Analyst is expected to have knowledge in integrated supply chain modules such as Inventory , Order management & Planning modules of Oracle EBS suite.
• Designs, configures and develops (delivers) application changes, integrations, reports, etc.
• Provides technical guidance and business functional consultation to internal and external developers on the overall solution approach, including technical validation of the approach during solution fit-gap analysis.
• Works directly with the business team to identify business needs and requirements, scope work effort, develops and implements solutions, and supports business process changes
• Effectively builds and maintains internal customer and peer relationships to support effective implementations
• Ensures that the new functionalities and implementations, including configuration changes, are setup and migrated to production following established release management processes
• Applies expertise to develop and implement innovative business solutions
• Suggests improvements within internal IT processes (documentation, month/qtr. end support, etc.) and able to implement these suggestions
• Provides production support for related Oracle application modules and other operational processes, manages incidents, and takes ownership to resolve issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Experience of Oracle R12 Supply Chain applications/modules including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, iProcurement, iSupplier, Sourcing & SLM.
• Knowledge in integrated supply chain modules such as Inventory , Order management & Planning modules of Oracle EBS suite.
• Experienced in driving iProcurement, iSupplier and iExpense implementations .
• Experienced in configuration AME
• Proven skill set with Supplier life cycle management modules.
• Experienced in Onsite offshore delivery model.
• Functional and technical experience of these processes: Procure to Pay, Plan to Order & Supplier Onboarding.
• Demonstrated competency in technical skills that include: PL/SQL, OAF & AME
• Demonstrated competency in SQL query design and performance tuning
• Knowledge of contract management around sourcing and purchasing
• Knowledge on Oracle Procure to Pay cloud solution is a plus.
• Integration design and development experience around different oracle applications using APIs and Open Interfaces.
• Experience of working on cross-functional multi-discipline (different technologies, platforms) complex and risky projects for a global company with a complex operation
• Able to identify functional/technical issues and takes ownership to close them or seeks escalation.
• Possesses a "track record" of successful completion of assignments with independence and creativity
• Ability to work and drive small to medium size project assignments (technical assessment, lead design sessions, effort estimates, work breakdown structures, Work packages, cutover plans) modules as a contractor, developer or business analyst.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with ability to converse with business users/management and other technical and functional experts. Must be comfortable in managing these conversations using web conferencing tools and collaboration technology in multiple time zones and geographies, as majority of the users and team members will be outside India.
• Must be able to travel internationally to US, Canada and Mexico to participate in meetings, training, conferences, etc.
• Overall 8-10 years of industry work experience including business systems analysis, solution design, and deployment of major ERP Systems, 4+ years of experience with Oracle Procurement applications & iModules.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or IT related fields from a four-year college or university with six to eight years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
