UK Business Area All areas under Finance Key departments/areas of responsibility : - Business Objects universe and report build/maintenance - Cognos Model Building and Maintenance For example: 1. Supervisory responsibility 2. Maintaining of applications like Business Objects, Cognos. 3. Troubleshooting and assisting the users. Overall Job Purpose : This team provides 1st line user support and system administration for Finance Business Intelligence (BI), including Business Objects (BO) & COGNOS users, based in the UK and Mumbai Accountabilities/Responsibilities : - Provide the single point of Data Warehousing (EDW/DataMart) expertise as appropriate. As users look to develop their own reports and processes, provide technical guidance on approach and method - Develop, maintain and manage financial business models in the strategic software Cognos Enterprise Planning for Finance and Other Business Areas, e.g. Corporate Property, Profit Calculation, B2B Activity, HR Salary Review, etc. Develop, maintain and manage expense budgeting and sales planning system modules for use by the UK management update these for each quarterly process and integrate into the EDW for reporting. - Support the team to Edit and Enhance MI universes built with Business Objects to most efficiently and effectively fulfill the data requirements of end users - Provide a single point of MI system expertise as appropriate. As users look to develop their own processes and reports, provide technical guidance on approach and method. - Own Finance MI reporting environments for self-service access by the business. This will involve the development of new reports with Business Objects. It may also include tactical solutions in other packages (Oracle, SQL Server, Access, Excel, etc) - Manage the Touchstone activity to generate the quarterly sales numbers of Prudential to be provided to external data analytics agency who provide consolidated market data of. competitors which is fed into a separate software. Ensure testing of the software before the data is released into production. - Support the team to deliver projects for new and existing MI systems such as Sales Systems, Profit reporting systems, headcount reporting and other Financial KPIs. - Support the team for delivery of new MI projects - Business Requirements Definitions- . This will involve the understanding of the problem that the business is seeking to solve and identifying the. components that will define a successful solution. Act as Business Analyst on these projects and then proceed through the project lifecycle to delivery. - Provide Training to finance team in Mumbai on using Business Objects & Cognos. -. Compliance - to ensure that you understand and adhere to Prudential's Code of Conduct and, where appropriate,. comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes. completion of any mandatory training requirements. To demonstrate a positive risk,. compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions, and failures that arise - Performance Management - To ensure the delivery of People Management and that all its processes and tools are fully utilized in managing your people. Key Interfaces (please detail purpose and level of contact) - UK Finance - UK Finance Systems - Entity Finance (PPMS) - PGDS/PRU IT - All Finance BO and Cognos users - Software Suppliers - External Consultants - Workload (Touchstone market software). Competence / Knowledge / Skills required : KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (KEY) : - Strong MI Systems Design skills and knowledge. Should have worked on MIS reporting - Cognos Enterprise Planning (Planning Analyst, Contributor and Access Manager, at least intermediate level essential, including ability to design, create and distribute simple planning models - Business Objects (Designer/Desktop Intelligence/Web Intelligence) knowledge to advanced level - Strong knowledge of MS Office - Good. communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills - Should be a Self-starter (Understand the timelines involved and take responsibility to get things done, work with enthusiasm to achieve team's goals) - A strong aptitude to understand systems and cater to user requirements. - Good analytical skills, as the team is responsible to understand issues and troubleshoot to fix them Customer focused and good relationship building skills. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (DESIRABLE) : - SQL (or proprietary equivalent) knowledge to an intermediate/advanced level desirable - Ability and inclination to analyze and resolve. complex user queries. - Able to work unsociable hours (long hours/ weekends) where required, managing an incident. - Financial Services product and market knowledge would be beneficial - Knowledge of Prudential UK Operations, products, and services desirable EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY : Graduate .
